How Can I Modify My Header and Footer Information?

Customize your store's header and footer to reinforce your brand identity, provide important information, and improve navigation. These elements appear on every page of your store.

Accessing Header and Footer Settings

1. Navigate to https://seller-area.youcan.shop/admin
2. Click Store in the left menu
3. Select Theme > Header and Footer
4. Two tabs will appear: Header Settings and Footer Settings

Header Customization

Logo and Branding

1. Click the Header Settings tab
2. Upload Logo - Click to upload your store logo
   • Recommended size: 200x50 pixels
   • Accepts PNG, JPG, or SVG formats
   • Logo will appear in the top-left corner
3. Logo Link - Set where clicking the logo directs users (usually homepage)
4. Alt Text - Enter descriptive text for accessibility

Navigation Menu

1. Edit Main Menu - Configure primary navigation items
2. Add Menu Item:
   • Click Add Link
   • Label - Name of the menu item (e.g., "Products", "About Us")
   • Link - URL to direct to (e.g., /products, /about)
   • Drag items to reorder
3. Remove Menu Item - Click delete icon next to items to remove

Announcement Bar

Add a promotional message across the top:

1. Enable Announcement Bar - Toggle to activate
2. Bar Text - Enter your announcement
   • Example: "Free Shipping on Orders Over $50!"
   • Display important updates or offers
3. Bar Background Color - Choose the background color
4. Bar Text Color - Choose text color for readability
5. Bar Link - Optional URL the message links to
6. Close Button - Allow customers to dismiss the bar

Search and Cart Icons

1. Show Search Icon - Display search functionality
2. Show Cart Icon - Display shopping cart
3. Show Account Icon - Display login/account menu
4. Mobile Menu Style - Choose hamburger menu layout

Create organized columns of information:

1. Column 1 - Typically "About Us"
   • Title - "About Us" or custom title
   • Content - Enter description or links
2. Column 2 - Typically "Customer Service"
   • Title - "Help & Support"
   • Add Link - Create links to common pages:
     • Contact Us

     • Returns Policy
     • Shipping Info
3. Column 3 - Typically "Information"
   • Title - "Information"
   • Add Link - Add company/store information links
4. Column 4 - Typically "Follow Us"
   • Title - "Follow Us" or "Social Media"
   • Add Social Links - Add your social media profiles

Social Media Links

Connect your social presence:

1. Facebook Link - Enter your Facebook page URL
2. Instagram Link - Enter your Instagram profile URL
3. Twitter Link - Enter your Twitter/X handle URL
4. LinkedIn Link - Enter your LinkedIn profile
5. YouTube Link - Enter your YouTube channel
6. Pinterest Link - Enter your Pinterest profile
7. Social Icons Display - Choose icon size and style

Copyright and Legal

1. Copyright Text - Enter copyright notice
   • Example: "Copyright 2024 YourStore. All rights reserved."
2. Show Year - Automatically update year
3. Legal Links - Add links to:
   • Privacy Policy
   • Terms of Service
   • Refund Policy
   • Cookie Policy

Footer Contact Information

1. Email Address - Display store email
2. Phone Number - Display customer service phone
3. Business Address - Show physical location
4. Business Hours - Display store hours

Newsletter Signup

1. Enable Newsletter Signup - Add subscription option in footer
2. Newsletter Title - Default: "Subscribe to Our Newsletter"
3. Newsletter Description - Explain benefits of subscribing
4. Placeholder Text - Email input placeholder text

Payment Methods

1. Show Accepted Payment Icons - Display payment options you accept
2. Select Payment Methods - Check boxes for:
   • Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
   • PayPal
   • Apple Pay
   • Google Pay
   • Bank Transfer
   • Cash on Delivery

Preview Your Changes

1. A preview pane displays on the right side
2. Check desktop view of your header/footer
3. Click Mobile Preview to see mobile layout

Publishing Your Changes

1. Review all header and footer customizations
2. Test all links and buttons
3. Verify social media links are correct
4. Click Save to apply changes
5. Header and footer update across your entire store immediately
