YouCan Classic Theme: General Settings and Homepage

This article covers the Store > Theme settings page, which is used exclusively to customize the YouCan (old) theme. These settings do not apply to new themes (Chameleon, Origins, Harmony, etc.), with the exception of Checkout settings.

Access the Classic Theme Settings

  1. Go to Store > Theme in the left sidebar (note: this is "Theme", not "Themes")
  2. You will see a left sidebar with sections: Theme settings, Header/Footer settings, Product settings, Checkout settings, Cart bottom banner, Homepage settings

Direct access: seller-area.youcan.shop/admin/theme

The page shows a blue notice at the top: "Apart from checkout settings, all other settings on this page do not apply to new themes."

Use the Import, Export, and Save buttons at the bottom of the page to manage your settings.

Theme Settings (General)

Click Theme settings in the left sidebar. This section controls global fonts and colors for your store.

Fonts

  • Menu section font: Font used for navigation menus. Select from the dropdown and see a live preview.
  • Body section font: Font used for body text throughout the store.

Theme Colors

Nine color properties control your store's color palette:

  • Primary: Your main brand color (buttons, highlights)
  • Light primary: Lighter variant of the primary color
  • Dark primary: Darker variant of the primary color
  • Secondary: Accent color used for secondary elements
  • Body background: The background color of your store pages
  • Success: Color for success messages and confirmations
  • Info: Color for informational messages
  • Warning: Color for warning notifications
  • Danger: Color for error messages

Click any color swatch to open the color picker and enter a hex code or select a color.

Additional Toggles

  • Global breadcrumbs: Show breadcrumb navigation throughout the store
  • Checkout breadcrumbs: Show step indicators during checkout
  • Double precision: Enable precise decimal calculations in pricing displays

Homepage Settings

Click Homepage settings in the left sidebar. This section lets you configure the sections that appear on your store's homepage.

Each section can be collapsed or expanded using the arrow icon, and deleted with the trash icon.

Section Slider

The slider displays a rotating banner at the top of your homepage:

  1. Click Add slide to add a new slide
  2. For each slide, upload an image and set the text overlay
  3. Use the Slides tab to manage individual slides
  4. Use the Settings tab to configure slider behavior (speed, autoplay, etc.)
  5. Drag slides to reorder them
  6. Click the edit icon on a slide to update its image or text
  7. Click the trash icon to remove a slide

Section Products List

Displays a grid of products from a specific category:

  1. Enter a Title and Subtitle for the section heading
  2. Set Limit: the number of products to display (e.g. 4)
  3. Use Select category to choose which product category to display
  4. Choose a View type: Grid or List
  5. Toggle Load more button to let customers load additional products

You can add multiple Products List sections to your homepage, each showing a different category.
