Track product stock levels and automate inventory updates when orders are placed.
Access Inventory Settings
- Log in to your seller area
- Navigate to Products > Inventory
- You'll see a list of all your products and their inventory status
Enable Inventory Tracking
To track inventory for a product:
- In the Products > Inventory page, find your product
- Toggle the Track inventory switch to ON
- The product's stock is now tracked
- Stock automatically decrements when customers order
Set Stock Quantities
For products without variants:
- Open the product or go to Products > Inventory
- Enter the Stock quantity or Available stock
- This is the number of units currently in stock
- Save changes
For products with variants:
- Open Products > Inventory
- Find the product with variants
- Enter stock quantity for each variant separately
- Example:
- Size S: 10 units
- Size M: 15 units
- Size L: 8 units
Inventory Status
Products display their inventory status:
Tracked: - Shows exact inventory count - Stock decrements with each order - Low stock warnings can be set
Untracked: - Inventory is not managed - No stock limits enforced - Useful for digital products or unlimited items
Stock Deduction
When inventory tracking is enabled:
- Customer places an order
- Stock automatically decreases by the quantity ordered
- If variant is ordered, that specific variant's stock decreases
- Stock count updates in real-time
Low Stock Alerts
Set up notifications for low inventory (if available):
- In Products > Inventory, find the product
- Set a Low stock threshold (e.g., when stock reaches 5 units)
- You'll receive notifications when stock is low
- Plan reorders in advance
Manage Stock Manually
Adjust inventory manually for various reasons:
- Go to Products > Inventory
- Click the product to open stock adjustment options
- Enter the new stock quantity or adjustment amount
- Save changes
Use cases: - Damaged goods need to be deducted - Restock after receiving new inventory - Correct counting errors - Account for items returned by customers
Out of Stock Products
When a product runs out of stock:
- The product shows as "Out of Stock" on your storefront
- Customers cannot add it to their cart
- You can still display the product
- Customers can often request a notification when it's back in stock
Re-enable Tracking
To stop tracking inventory:
- Go to Products > Inventory
- Toggle the Track inventory switch to OFF
- The product's stock is no longer managed
- Customers can order unlimited quantities
Bulk Inventory Updates
For multiple products at once (if available):
- Go to Products > Inventory
- Look for bulk action options
- Select multiple products
- Update inventory in bulk
- Useful after receiving large restock shipments
Best Practices
- Track inventory for physical products
- Leave untracked for digital products or unlimited items
- Update stock quantities regularly
- Set realistic low-stock thresholds
- Coordinate with your fulfillment process
- Review inventory reports weekly
- Plan reorders before stock runs out
