How Customers See Languages
- Customers visit your store
- Their browser language preference is detected
- If available, the store displays in their preferred language
- If not available, it defaults to your primary language
- Customers can manually switch languages using a language selector (if enabled in theme settings)
Set Primary Language
Your primary language is the default if a customer's preferred language isn't available:
- In the Languages section, locate your primary language
- It's typically marked as "Default" or "Primary"
- To change the primary language, select a different one and set it as default
Remove a Language
- In the Languages section, find the language you want to remove
- Click the delete or remove icon
- Confirm removal
- Content in that language is archived but not deleted
Best Practices
- Focus on languages spoken by your target customers
- Ensure accurate translations (consider professional translation services)
- Keep product descriptions consistent across languages
- Test your store in each language before launching
